The field of view through spectacles-mounted devices has been typically uated and illustrated using perimetry, though it is different from the perceived scene (i.e., retinal image) and often fails to represent important aspects of the field of view and visual parameters such as spatial distortions, dimming, or reduced contrast. We developed a photographic depiction method to record the monocular field of view effects of the devices at the right angular size and then displayed them to scale using virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), thus demonstrating binocular visual confusion effects for unilateral fitting..
